A Little About Me

Born in France, Olivia Mutelet’s life has been a vibrant journey of movement, color, and reinvention.

At the age of five, she moved to Villars-sur-Ollon, a picturesque Swiss ski village, where she studied for eight years at Collège International Beau Soleil. At 13, her family emigrated to Florida, where the warmth of the sun and the rhythm of the sea shaped her teenage years. Still, her European roots called her back, eventually returning to France to study hotel management, architecture, and interior design, laying the groundwork for her deep love of structure, texture, and space.

A serendipitous trip to Canada brought her to Montreal. Enchanted by its vibrant spirit city and the fiery hues of Indian summer, she made it her home.  It was there that her true artistic voice emerged. Painting became her language, a way to layer texture, emotion, and emotion onto every canvas.

But life pressed pause. A long and personal battle with cancer forced her to step away from creating. Not from lack of passion, but due to physical limitations. Certain materials became unsafe, and she had to stop painting. Yet the artist within her never faded. Her spirit stayed strong. Her creativity quietly waited.

That chapter is now closed.

Today, Olivia returns to her studio with renewed fire, energy and a deeper sense of purpose. Her current work is bold and expressive, infused with raw emotion, layered textures, and experimental materials. She explores street art, screen printing, stencil work, and laser cutting, anchored in her commitment to using water-based, low-VOC materials that align with her values and health journey.

In Olivia’s words:

“We need to do the things we love. Art comes from the soul. It’s passion. It’s healing. It’s aliveness. Supporting living artists means being part of the process, while they’re still creating, still breathing life into every piece.”

Olivia’s art is about strength and starting over. Each piece tells a personal story, full of feeling, change, and presence. When you experience her work, you’re seeing a life in progress, a creative energy that’s still growing and evolving.

With love and color,

Olivia
